REVIEWS

Although covers are not supposed to sell books, the bright, colourful cover for this children’s picture book certainly catches one’s eye. Opening the book did not disappoint. The colourful illustrations, so suited to young children, enhanced each of the little stories. My ‘grandies’ really loved the rhymes, especially the two about Nanna and Grandpa.

I bought ‘Little Stories for Little People’ at a Christmas market and gave it to my 3 year old granddaughter as a present. I’ve had the pleasure of reading, and I must say rereading it to her. Her favourite story was ‘A new Day’ because their family pet cat had just produced kittens so it was a timely coincidence. I’d recommend the book to anyone to share with little children.

The collection of rhyming stories is perfect for young children. The book is great for adults to read to littlies as well as for early readers to read by themselves.

The variable topics covered in the little stories, (which are actually all written in verse), are related to things of interest to young children. ‘Seasons’ and ‘Blackbird’ are informative while ‘The Wind’ could so easily be true. When my Grandchildren went to the beach with me in the summer holidays Jason reminded us to hang on to our hats!
